Blanton’s Original Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey, also known as “liquid gold,” was first produced in 1984 under the guidance of Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee. Â These bottles are aged for 6-8 years and have a higher rye content. Blanton’s known for its limited production, making it difficult to obtain.
In 1999, eight different horse stoppers were added to the bottles, spelling out “B-L-A-N-T-O-N’-S” when lined up. These stoppers depict different positions of a horse race and are a unique feature of Blanton’s. The international releases of Blanton’s are 700 ml, while domestic releases are 750 ml.
Tasting Notes:
- Color: Orange hue
- On the Nose: Hints of caramel, vanilla, nutmeg, lemon, and orange citrus
- On the palate: Honey, caramel, corn.
- Finish: Warm, layered, corn, vanilla, and nutmeg.
