2014 Mattina Fiore Regina Madre Syrah
$82.99
Introducing the 2014 Mattina Fiore Regina Madre Syrah, a barrel select Syrah hailing from the Santa Maria Valley in California, USA. This exquisite wine is named after Scott’s mother Regina (Jean), and aptly so, as “Regina Madre” translates from Italian to English as “Queen Mother”, fitting both her and the Barrel Select Syrah. This wine has been awarded a Silver medal from the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and has received a rating of 91/100 from 2 critic reviews. The 2014 Mattina Fiore Regina Madre Syrah is a red wine that boasts a depth of garnet color, followed by an intense lushness of black vine fruit flavors of olallieberry, the liveliness of raspberries, and a floral nose that reminds us of the early mornings at the San Francisco flower market. Hints of dark plum, a flutter of braised short rib with fig jam, and the concentration of layered chocolate cake and sweet tannins round out the energetic lingering finish.

About The Winery:
Scott & Andrea Williams’s adventure in wine began many years ago in San Luis Obispo California where they first met as college students. As a husband and wife team, with their four sons, they have traversed the gamut of the premium wine business on the Central Coast for nearly 30 years as the purveyors of Depalo & Sons, Specialty Provisions, Spirits and Fine Wines. Over that time, they have had the fortune to refine alliances with the Central Coast’s finest winemaking families and grape growers. They started Mattina Fiore Wines in 2011 to deliver elegantly crafted wines worthy of San Luis Obispo’s history of exquisite winemaking from its captivating premium vineyards. Mattina Fiore is a celebration of this passion and a tribute to their rich ancestry.
