To celebrate the artful craft of blending exceptional, high quality whisky that Scotland is renowned for, Kentucky Owl has partnered with Maureen Robinson, one of Scotch whisky most revered Master Blenders, to create this exceptional 3rd limited edition international collaboration of blended Bourbon, appropriately named Maighstir Edition.
Maighstir (pronounced may-stir) translates as Master in Gaelic and this is an authentic way of highlighting the collaboration between these 2 great whiskey masters. It is a collaboration that encompasses not just the art of blending itself but also the different flavors and taste profiles that each country has become famous for in the making of its whiskeys.
Kentucky Owl Maighstir Edition Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Initially there is sense of warm spicy sweetness from the rye that you might expect from a great bourbon, but then the combination and soft tones from the wheat and barley give a pleasant calming warmness to the tongue. As it melts in the mouth the essence of orange and grapefruit linger behind the soft velvety feel in the mouth. In the throat, the soft caramel/vanilla reappears and trails away with a long soft pleasant finish
